Our Commitment

As America’s Plastic Makers, we’re making sustainable change to help create a circular economy for plastic, in which plastic is reused instead of discarded.

A circular economy for plastic can help drive down waste, greenhouse gas emissions, and use of fossil resources.

We're building a cleaner, brighter future.

All while we continue to create the essential products we need to build a more sustainable infrastructure for our loved ones today and for future generations.

We’re finding new ways to make plastics lighter, stronger and more efficient.

By making plastics more recyclable we are also helping to further drive down greenhouse gas emissions.

We’re changing business models to embrace circularity.

We’re investing billions of dollars in new ways to recycle the 90% of plastics that aren’t recycled today.

100% of U.S. plastic packaging is recyclable or recoverable by 2030

Packaging is one of the largest uses of plastic. And packaging too often finds its way into the environment. To keep plastic packaging out of the environment, it must be properly managed and designed in a way to make it readily recoverable from the waste stream for recycling or reuse. As a nation, we must achieve this goal before we can reach for goal number two.

100% of U.S. plastic packaging is reused, recycled or recovered by 2040

This stretch goal fully embraces our drive toward a circular economy for plastic, in which these materials are kept in productive use for as long as possible and then repurposed instead of discarded. Achieving this goal requires better packaging design, effective ways for Americans to collect used packaging, and new technologies, such as advanced plastic recycling, to reuse, recycle or recover packaging.

Stay in the loop and help us create a future for plastic that doesn't include waste.
